A hostile figure on the prowl
Persistent in his state,
Inspecting and critiquing
No concern for a person’s fate.
“Is your knowledge of books or common sense?”
Ridiculing the person, insulting their claim
“Your education and experience is a fool’s game!”
Your pursuits are hollow,
Your attempts to enrich yourself
leads to your destitute!”
Loudly with jeers, he protests the person’s worth.
“Do you actually exist, or are you a mere echo?
Not another face of obedience? This I must contest!”
Seeing this life with action, but as a transaction.
“Your interests are not unique, just the same as others.”
“With this in mind I speak, this is not a mere pique.”
The figure sees life as a battle, a never ending race.
Only dominance and power dictates one’s place.
“So, to go beyond being just a mere reflection.
Choose each path, guided by introspection.
Remain tranquil, with all the conformity you see.
To live a life, you must do it authentically!”
The hostile figure walks away.
Can a person truly leave their doubts or dismay?
Within a departure, these doubts may linger or sway.
A real person remains steadfast, come what may.
